what is grace?

Christian Doctrine    Salvation is by Jesus Alone

After considering all we've discussed, let's consider the sermon by the Apostle Peter, who described to many people present on the day of Pentecost, why the Church believes that Jesus is the Chosen One - The Christ:

"Men of Israel, listen to this:  Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you though Him, as you yourselves know.  This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the held of wicked men, put Him to death by nailing Him to the cross.  But God raised Him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him...God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact...Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."  Acts 2:22-24, 32, 36

The response of the people that day was dramatic - and indicative of the responses of people to this day:

"When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"  Acts 2:37

Now what is the answer to this question?
